Big Softie!

So I finally broke down and let the dogs sleep in my bedroom last week. They are not allowed on my bed but they sleep in the room instead of in their crates. Ruby has always had a blanket in the bedroom that she likes to lay on. So she was very happy. She actually stopped peeing at night. Funny how that happened? Brae didn't really know what to think of sleeping in the bedroom with mom and not sleeping in his crate. So he was pretty antsy the first few nights. So then I was feeling bad that he didn't really have a bed anymore because I put it outside in the kennel for them to sleep on during the day. So I bought him a new bed. I put it next to the bed where he sleeps and he slept like a baby all night. Well the next morning Ruby woke up and ate breakfast and then disappeared. Brae and I found her on the bed. He looked at me, looked at her, looked at me again, let out a sigh and layed right next to her.
This morning they were both trying to sleep on the bed, it's really not big enough for both of them. I told them, alright, I will have to get another one!

I sure do love my dogs!

Birthday Stamp-A-Stack!

Here are the cards we will be doing for my Birthday Stamp-A-Stack!
This card uses the Crab & Company stamp set. I love this little crab. This card could be perfect for the special guys in your life.
This card uses the Big Birthday Candle set!

I just love this little birdie from the set, A Little Birdie Told Me. There are several different sayings that you can use in place of, "it's your birthday."

I look forward to stamping with you for the Birthday SAS!

Peace of Mind

I was really starting to feel guilty about leaving the dogs in their crates for close to 9 hours a day, if not more. Since Zach moved to California, I have been the only one to take them out and I am gone 9 hours a day with my 40 minute commute each way. A friend of mine helped me come up with and complete the idea of putting a kennel up on my patio. The dogs now have a 6x10 space to move around in during the day. A 3x6 area is dirt (now gravel) for them to relieve themselves throughout the day but I don't think Brae has figured that out yet. He seems to have to go quite bad when I get home. I covered the top and front of the kennel with a tan sunshade material. They have their bed that is raised off the ground and a sheet to lay on. They also have a gallon water dispenser but don't seem to drink any while I am gone. They seem to like it so far. Brae has to wear the bark collar because he would bark at every leaf that blew by. Ruby isn't really a barker, just whines but no one has said anything yet. They are happy to play with each other when I get home, almost as though they didn't see each other all day. Then they eat dinner and are so tired they head right to sleep!
It has been nice this week not worrying about them so much. I can stay at work for a little bit not having to rush to get them to go out and move around! They seem happier too!

Pink Polka Dot Elephant

Here is another Valentine's Day card. After looking through the SCS Gallery for ideas, I finally created something. I have been wanting to try paper piecing for quite some time now. I tried it on a few other projects and didn't like the outcome. This time I thought the elephant was cute with pink polka dots!
